Check out this video about us gold coins:

Again the title says it all, but just to fill out the gap I can say that the clip is interesting. :) (Clip taken from the “Greeks” episode, on the G series / Series G). I do not own the rights to the clip. BBC© 2009

@hdcantona Gold is actually a quite soft metal. That’s why most things aren’t made of pure gold, because they would bend quite easily.

Am I the only one who thought that if you bit into a solid gold coin it WOULDN’T make a dent?

Anyone else go google the island of yap after this?

By theEarlofChip on January 24th, 2012 at 10:27 am

No one believed Yap is a real place

By damienw800i on January 24th, 2012 at 11:11 am

@Soundfrequency how old are you? 2?.

By Emophiliac2 on January 24th, 2012 at 11:17 am

The other great advantage of visiting Yap is that the women are topless. Rather, they do have tops, but they don’t wear clothing on the upper part of their body. Many times, that was a good customer. Other times, not so good.

@whade62000 I don’t hate you, I just have this to say because you mentioned mythbusters: mythbusters annoys me.

Its not lead its graphite XD

By aimpoint101 on January 24th, 2012 at 12:08 pm

@deathoctober Older QI Episode talking about lead pencils being misnomers and having graphite instead, yeah I’m spoiling the fun in not knowing :b

By deathoctober on January 24th, 2012 at 12:57 pm

lol wheres the link between lead in gold and lead in pencils? GENIUS!

because they are weally weally yummy

By fromthenightbefore on January 24th, 2012 at 1:35 pm

wow, I used to live on the island of Yap.. and they used us dollars there as the giant stone money had gotten a bit archaic.

Nobody believes Rich, but it’s true. Or it was.

I did more mining of gold in Age of Empires

I want Mythbusters to make a 1-minute of this: do you actually leave a tooth mark on a coin that is part gold, part lead?

@Soundfrequency Isn’t it obvious why he replied to him self? he wanted to male sure he truly understood what a crappy sense of humour he has? I mean he say’s it at the start of the post

By jamboliboli on January 24th, 2012 at 5:20 pm

@jamboliboli

Yup, I just had to make sure that you truly understood what a crappy sense of humour you have. You have to know how unfunny that joke was. I mean, honestly, that was the worst joke i’ve ever heard. Seriously, well done. I’m proud of you.
